I picked up INTERPRO 1.0 from EBI, and their Icarus files.

Indexing takes forever. It also exceeds shell limits that no other
database seems to hit.

The database is not large by SRS standards (only 58 Mb), so I assume
it is the EBI's parser for XML that is slow and memory hungry.

In the absence of a list of SRS6 servers, or a DATABANKS database for
SRS6 - does anyone have a better interpro.is file out there?

Incidentally, on the EBI SRS5 server list:

    http://srs.ebi.ac.uk/srs5list.html

... the "new SRS World Wide" link is broken.

There is a temporary list of SRS6 servers at:

    http://www.sanger.ac.uk/Users/pmr/srs6servers.shtml

If you know of any more servers (or any more lists) please mail the
details to pmr@sanger.ac.uk

Hi,

I am trying to update my SRS5.1 to SRS6. The SRS6 version has been successfully
installed on a 64bit based SGI machine, but it is not possible to install it
on my SRS5.1 server (SGI-Indy 32bit platform), an internet open web-server
(http://crisceb.area.na.cnr.it/srs5/), whereas the 64bit machine is for only
local access.
It seems that there is no way to obtain an SRS6 binary code running on a
32-bit IRIX platform. The Lion-support suggestion (even if with a very polite
message) is: change the server.
Well, this may be not the right place to discuss this Lion policy.
My question is: anyone has another suggestion to overcome this problem ?

Best wishes

Angelo Facchiano
