Does anyone know where I can find a procedure for staining viable spores
for epifluorescence microscopy with dapi? I want to look at spores of
Bacillus cereus so if anyone has some experience with this I'd be
interested to hear from you. Tkanks!

Hi everybody...

Could anyone tell me what are the constituant of the membranes of bacterial
spores? Is it proteins or polysaccharids?

Any information will be welcome!

Thanks in advance

Olivier

Olivier:

The membranes are mostly lipid, usually with a significant proportion
of protein. Saccharides in membranes are found as head groups of the
lipids or surface modifications of the proteins.
