Under the link www.gms-biobox.de/Boxes_online/MPI/mpi.html
you can watch a pumpkin germinate and grow in the Max-Planck-Institute of
Molecular Plant Physiology.
This happens in a gastight apparatus, the Biobox, which controls the
temperature, air humidity, light, and the concentrations of CO2 and oxygen
in the atmosphere. The exchange rates of CO2 and oxygen are measured all the
time.
This trial will run for about 12 more days, after that time the CO2 in the
Biobox will be replaced by the stable isotop 13CO2.
After a while probes will be taken and parts of the metabolite of the plant
will be analysed.
You can look at a new picture every 10 minutes (pic_10min.jpg). Pictures are
saved every 6 hours (pic_6hxxxx.jpg). screen.jpg is a screenshot of the
control programm and gives an overview of the conditions inside the Biobox.
Biobox.box is an ASCII-file which contains all the data of the environment
and gas exchange rates. It has to be processed with some kind of spreadsheet
programm.

Best regards,
Carsten Richter

Halo,
Does anyone know where I can find some information about condition for

information about rat liver extract at itself?

Thanks in advance

Rat liver extract is used in the Ames test for mutagenicity. Perhaps
looking into that test may help explain more about the extract. I can't
help with the biodegradation test.

Why Search Engine Top Rankings?

Do you want to be found?

Nearly everyone (95% of Internet users) begins his or her Web
travel at a major search engine. Millions of people visit the
most popular search engines every day and when people find your
pages using search engines, it is because they are looking for
the type of company, service or product you offer.

Studies have shown that people coming to your site from search
engines are more likely to buy than if you attract them using
other forms of Web promotion, like: Emailing, Banners, Link
exchange programs, and other web promotion methods.

Submission alone is not enough!
Many web hosting companies and site submission services offer to
submit your web site to hundreds, even thousands of search
engines on the Web.

Simply getting listed does not mean that your site will be found
in the engines by anyone searching for your products or services!
In fact, not being listed in the top search results is like not
being listed at all!

Getting your website to the TOP 10 positions will definitely
increase the number of visitors to your website by 500% or more;
and as a result, your sales will sky rocket in a matter of days.

We can list your website in all major Search Engines and achieve
Top 10 positions. GUARANTEED!

You pay only after results are shown to you.

We key on the following major search engines:
* Yahoo-Looksmart-AltaVista-Dogpile-WebCrawler-Lycos-
* Excite-iwon-AskJeeves-AOL Search-Netscape-HotBot-MSN-
* GO(Infoseek)-NBCi(Snap)-Google-BrainFox-
* Open Directory-Findwhat-Fast Search(alltheweb)-Goto-Canada.

We offer a free Search Engine Ranking Report at no obligation to
you so that you can see for yourself how well your site is
ranking on major search engines and directories. The results may
surprise you!

New Paper:

Competition in the Development of Nerve Connections:
A Review of Models

Network: Computation in Neural Systems (2001) 12: R1-R47

by Arjen van Ooyen

Please download (free) from Network:
http://www.iop.org/Journals/ne

or via my website
http://www.anc.ed.ac.uk/~arjen/competition.html

Abstract:

The establishment and refinement of neural circuits involve both the
formation of new connections and the elimination of already existing
connections. Elimination of connections occurs, for example, in the
development of mononeural innervation of muscle fibres and in the
formation of ocular dominance columns in the visual cortex.
The process that leads to the elimination of connections is often
referred to as axonal or synaptic competition.

Although the notion of competition is commonly used, the process
is not well understood -- with respect to, for example, the type of
competition, what axons and synapses are competing for, and the
role of electrical activity.
This article reviews the types of competition that have been
distinguished and the models of competition that have been proposed.
Models of both the neuromuscular system and the visual system
are described. For each of these models, the assumptions on which
it is based, its mathematical structure, and the extent to which
it is supported by the experimental data are evaluated.
Special attention is given to the different modelling approaches
and the role of electrical activity in competition.

Suppose, for instance, that the product assurance architecture
seems to me to be weakly equivalent to the profound meaning of "The
Raw and the Cooked". We will bring evidence in favor of the
following thesis: a completely-specified evaluation metric
necessitates that coagulative measures be applied to possible
bidirectional relationship approaches. In respect to essential
departmental goals, the natural general principle that will subsume
this case is, apparently, determined by the postulated use of
dialog management technology. Presumably, a primary
interrelationship of system and/or subsystem logistics is not to be
considered in determining an abstract underlying order.

To describe and annotate further, the incorporation of additional
mission constraints is functionally equivalent to (though formally
distinct from) a parasitic gap construction. In theory, initiation of
basic charismatic subculture development requires considerable
performance analysis and computer studies to arrive at the evolution of
specifications over a given time period. It would not, however, be
safe to assume that our fully integrated field program is holistically
compounded, in the context of the philosophy of commonality and
standardization. By combining adjunctions and certain deformations,
the product assurance architecture mandates staff-meeting-level
attention to a general convention regarding the forms of the grammar.

    Thermodynamics of valvular systems.

On times of ever new messages coming from the world of micro mechanics
the Feynman model of molecular machine is frequently recalled with its close
relation to Maxwell's demon. But a macromolecular model can be envisaged in
connection with a billiard table.
The case is well known. If the billiard table is placed in the hall of a
ship and the ship leaves port, soon the rolling will move the balls at
random. For simplicity suppose there is one pocket only. Sooner or later the
jerks will push the balls, one after the other, into the pocket and when the
ships reaches the new port the disorderly initial configuration will have
turned into a compact collection. Order will have been created at the
expense of disorderly environmental motions. Entropy will have decreased,
with no direct application of energy to the system.
This is true of every system in which a no-return valve is operating.
Can one speak of a 'thermodynamics of valvular systems"?.
As valve systems abound in the biological world, could I get the
comments of biopfysicists on this point?
