Solicitation for the Young Fluorescence Investigator Award sponsored by 
the Biological Fluorescence Subgroup of the Biophysical Society and SPEX 
Industries, a division of Instruments S.A.

The award is based on the novel application of fluorescence spectroscopy to
current work in Biology by a pretenure faculty member.  The awardee will 
receive a cash prize of $1000 and will present a lecture on their research, 
at the Annual Biophysical Society Meeting in February, 1997.  

The selection committee consists of M. Eftink, University of Mississippi; F. 
Prendergast, Mayo Clinic; J.B.A. Ross, Committee Chairperson, Mount Sinai 
School of Medicine, and C. Royer, University of Wisconsin.
