The Biophysical Sociey On-Line Employment Service is offering the
opportunity to pre-register for the Placement Service at the Annual Meeting
in Kansas City, MO. If your are planning to interview at the Annual
Meeting, please submit your position description or resume prior to
the meeting by filling out our employer or candidate forms which are
available through the Biophysical Society Internet Services:

WWW URL:  http://biosci.umn.edu/biophys/employ.html

The site may be reached through the Biophysical Society Home Page
http://www.faseb.org/biophys/society/biohome.htm

Gopher:  biosci.cbs.umn.edu, port 70
 -->CBS Departments-->Biophysical Journal-->Employment
or
Gopher: FASEB --> Societies --> Biophysical Society --> Biophysical
Journal --> Employment

Answering ÒYesÓ to the question on the candidate or employer forms concerning
interviewing at the meeting will automatically pre-register you for the
Placement Service. Only a few additional items will be required to be completed
on site. We would like to improve the efficiency of the Placement Service on
site by pre-registering as many participants as possible prior to the meeting.

This service is FREE to MEMBERS and EMPLOYERS. For Non-Member Candiates, there
will be a $30 charge.

We hope that you find this system useful and easy to use. If you have questions
or would like assistance, please contact

WE NEED YOUR HELP! The CPOW (Committee on Professional Opportunities
for Women) of the Biophysical Society is conducting a survey to
assess gender bias in biophysics and related
fields. We ask all members of the biophysical community (invluding faculty,
students, men and women) to take a few minutes to fill out the survey. We also
ask you to alert others members of the community that might not
receive this notice.

To participate, just go to the survey site at
http://physiology.pnb.sunysb.edu/cpow.htm
which will link you to the survey site. The addresses of all respondents
will be blocked to preserve anonymity.

The results of the survey will be
presented at the CPOW panel discussion at the
Biophysical Society meeting in Kansas City this
February.

Thank you for your time.
