The On-Line Textbook of Biophysics

The Biophysical Society's recent initiative, a free, on-line texbook in
biophysics, continues to show growth in contributions and usage. Since the
report in the March 1999 Biophysical Society Newsletter, three more chapters
have been added to the On-Line Textbook in Biophysics.

Supramolecular Assemblies
Actin filaments, Paul Janmey
Circular DNA, Alexander Vologodskii

Proteins
Protein-Protein Interactions, Catherine Royer

The Textbook may be accessed through the Biophysical Society web site:
http://www.faseb.org/biophys/society/biohome.htm
or at the textbook's URL: http://biosci.umn.edu/biophys/OLTB/

In addition to the new chapters, usage statistics are now being reported on
the Textbook's web site. These data will convince those who have promised to
send in chapters that your effort will be worthwhile. Usage has been on a
continuous increase since the Textbook's inception in 1996, and it is
anticipated that this trend will continue.

If you have comments or suggestions that would make the On-Line Textbook a
more useful resource, please send them to Victor Bloomfield,

or Carol Gross, cgross@cbs.umn.edu
