Hi,
Does anyone know of a method to amplify 150kb DNA
product. I am trying to amplify a product cloned in a PAC and
not sure if there is a method of doing it. If anyone has tried
it or knows of a method that might work I would appreciated if
they could let me know of it.

Thanks

Hi,
Does anyone know of a method or a place where they carry
out diagnostics on plants. I am interested in knowing whether
anybody has developed a generic technique for detecting the
presence of bacteria or virus in plants.

The method has to be generic i.e. not specific to a particular
virus or bacteria.

If anyone knows of a method or can think of a method please let
me know.

Thanks.

Hi,
Is anyone interested in buying a Vistra Sequencing/PCR
robot from us, please email me. We have done developments on the
Vistra Robot and at the moment it does the followings reliably :

1) Template prep of plasmid DNA

2) PCR

3) Radioactive and flourescent sequencing

If anyone is interested please email me.

Thanks.

Hello,

We have been usng Chinese hamster CoT-1 DNA as a competitor in our FISH
experiments for years, however, in 1997 Gibco BRL ceased to produce this
reagent. I have since prepared my own, but this has proved labour
intensive, heavy on tissue culture consumables etc etc.

Does anyone, therefore, know of a commerical source for Hamster CoT-1
DNA? I have scoured catalogues but no joy. Any pointers greatly
appreciated

Andy

Dear Colleagues:

The Pall Specialty Materials group has recently started a series of free,
bimonthly, electronic newsletters.
These newsletters provide technical and product information on our
materials. New, useful information will appear in these newsletters prior
to being presented anywhere else. Four newsletters are available.
*****
Immunodiagnostics
Molecular diagnostics/High throughput screening
Healthcare applications
Industrial applications (filtration, venting, electrically driven
separations, etc..)

Hello,

I'm trying to find out wether American ginseng is diploid or tetraploid. I
have only found one source that says it is tetraploid, but it does not
mention how they determined this. There are other spcies of ginseng that
have 24 chromosomes and because my species has 48 (I know this because I
counted them) I think it has just been assumed. Does anybody know how I
could prouve that it is in fact a tetrapoid? My major problem is that I
don't know who the parent species are (they are more than likely extinct)
and I think that if it's a tetraploid, then it is an allotetraploid
because no quadrivalents have been observed and a study that measure
chromosome lenght showed that there were 5 size groupings and 2 of these
grouping only containes 2 chromosomes each (vs four) if anybody has any
ideas, please help

Postdoctoral Research Associate positions are currently available
in my laboratory to participate in NIH-funded studies on long-range
transcriptional activation by locus control regions and signaling pathways
that control hematopoiesis. Questions being investigated include - what
are the coactivators that mediate long-range activation by the human
B-globin LCR, how is long range activation modulated by hematopoietic
signaling pathways, and how does Notch signaling control hematopoiesis?

Potential applicants should submit a brief description of research
interests, a curriculum vitae, and the names of three individuals for
recommendations to:
