Dear All,
We are trying to get rid of Amersham Vistra
Robot because we don't have space for it anymore.

The robot is good for the following applications :

1) Automated DNA mini preps (it does upto 32 minipreps)

2) Flourescent DNA Sequencing

3) Radioactive DNA Sequencing

4) Automated PCR setup

5) PCR cleanups

It comes with computer, manuals and is in very good condition
and fully functional. It was bought for £50,000 in 1995 but will
consider any reasonable offer (even below £10,000).

If you are interested please email me with your price.

Thanks

Dear Abelardo Arias Velasquez,
several BCR/ABL-primer pairs are used by laboratories concerened with this
kind of diagnostics. We are currently organizing an interlaboratory test
for quality asurement in Germany and I was really surprised how many
different (PCR-based) test systems are in use.
Here are two literature hints:

(Single PCR:)
Cross NC, Melo JV, Feng L, Goldman JM (1994) An optimized multiplex
polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for detection of BCR-ABL fusion mRNAs in
haematological
disorders. Leukemia 1994 Jan;8(1):186-189
MEDLINE-Abstract:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/htbin-post/Entrez/query?uid=8289486&form=6&db=m&Dopt=b

(Nested PCR:)
Maurer J, Janssen JW, Thiel E, van Denderen J, Ludwig WD, Aydemir U,
Heinze B, Fonatsch C, Harbott J, Reiter A, et al (1991) Detection of
chimeric BCR-ABL genes in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia by the polymerase
chain reaction. Lancet May 4;337(8749):1055-1058
MEDLINE-Abstract:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/htbin-post/Entrez/query?uid=1673492&form=6&db=m&Dopt=b

(We are currently using a modified version of the second method.)

Good luck !

Hello
I don't know if I am in the right area or not but maybe someone can point me
in the right direction...
I have been trying to find any information that I can for a friend who has a
daughter with chromosome 2 & 11 transversed..
The daughter is having seizures and wanted to find out all we could about
Vitamin B6 Therapy and also Intense Oxygen Therapy....
Her pediatrician is treating the seizures with Phenobarbital...
Now I do not understand a whole lot of medical terms but we are looking for
information in layman's terms that maybe could help Mom understand her
daughters illness more...
If there is anyone out there that can point me in the right direction to
find these things out I would greatly appreciate it...
thanks

Biosource is the oldest recruitment firm in the
biotech industry and an employer paid fee service.
We currently have a client seeking to hire people to
manage positional cloning projects. Experience
such as with BACs, YACs, and contigs is required.
This is an extremely well funded company outside of
the United States.

Interested people please E-mail Marc Andelman
at drgonfly@ultranet.com, or call 508 853 8803,
or FAX 508 853 8773. Unless specifically asked,
please allow me only to get back in touch if this
or some other position is a dead ringer for a person's
and the client's interest. I will of course call first
before sending anyone's information along.

Thank you,
Marc Andelman

Does anyone know the human chromosomal location of 3-hydroxyisobutyrate
dehydrogenase?

Nobody appears to have sequenced a full length cDNA clone, though there is
a large UniGene cluster which clearly corresponds to the gene.

Thanks
