Dear CSM member:
I am pleased to inform you, as Meetings' Secretary of the CSM,
that the deadline for submission of abstracts for the Annual Meeting
in Charlottetown has been extended to March 31.

The Call for Abstracts possibly did not reach some of you until
after the holidays and I notice that many of you that normally take
great pride in supporting Canada's microbiology society are absent.
By extending the deadline to the end of the fiscal year, I also hope
that in these days of shrinking travel budgets it will help
you in getting budget approval for fiscal 96.

Please make every effort to support your Society in PEI. The
program committee has recently added an Industrial Microbiology
Workshop to the proceedings. Dr. Fred Haynes, author of Canadian
Biotechnology 1996 directory, will convene the workshop. There is
now much in the program of interest to those working the field of
applied microbiology.

Of course you can also be assured of a very warm and colourful
Maritime welcome, which have often made for some of the more
memorable CSM meetings.

I hope to see some abstracts from you in the mail in next few
weeks.

Sincerely

Colin Bell
CSM Meetings' Secretary

From John Nash relayed via BIOSCI:

NRC's NNTP server just crashed and I can't process outgoing posts to
bionet.prof-society.csm. It will probably be down for 4-5 days.
I am also going to a conference from Feb 22 - 29, so I
won't be processing posts during this time.
