Our scoring system works like this:

Scores greater than 70 are Bullish
Between 60 and 70 are Optimistic

Between 30 and 40 are Cautionary
Less than 30 are Bearish

It is no secret to our thousands of subscribers that we never spend a lot

Net Stock Picks Features OTCBB: LWRD

LWRD is our November Profile of the Month

If you have been searching for an exciting new internet company with dynamic
growth potential, then we strongly suggest that you look at Learners World
OTCBB: LWRD

Follow the link below for recent company news and latest quote from Yahoo!
http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=lwrdd=v1

We highly recommend that all investors read the following article, which not only
provides a comprehensive look at Learners World, but also the emerging
educational sector of the internet market.

>From the Company:

Learner's World is an educational, test preparation company making
the transition to an Internet based training/test preparation content provider
with its own educational website. We are filling the need for alternative modes
of training that are both flexible and convenient. Unlike the current
educational offerings now available on the Internet, which are
mostly university or government based or highly technical in content, ours
will train people to obtain necessary knowledge or certification to prepare for
exams and to train for new skills. These are exams/training which will lead
to the customer obtaining such benefits as gaining employment or advancing in
their current careers and advancing their educational goals.

The target market is growing as factors including downsizing, welfare to
workfare programs, the need for more skilled and better trained workers and
a competitive workplace puts an emphasis on lifetime learning and successful
test taking. Also, corporations are looking for cost efficient methods to train
their employees around the country and the world.

Individuals are looking for ways to increase their academic credentials and
work environment by moving on to higher education and more responsible
positions. Many of these activities start with the need to
take an exam of some kind, for which, we will help to prepare them. These
customers need to fit education into their busy lifestyles. Learner's World
combines current technology with well designed test preparation and training
materials for academic, vocational, professional and health care learning as
well as custom designed courses for corporate training.

According to qualified research, the target customers are showing a growing
interest in LWRD's educational format, categorized as distance learning. The
increased level of advertising by degree granting colleges and universities is
making more and more people aware of the benefits and legitimacy of distance
learning via the Internet. Internet World magazine gives examples of "The
Internet Education" which included online degree programs offered by
traditional institutions such as Penn State and Indiana University, as well
as nontraditional entities such as University Online and the Global Network
Academy. Businesses see profits in the estimated $670 billion the United
States spends on education each year (growing about 3% a year) and the
67 million students in the United States alone.
Family PC Magazine estimates that 1 million students are taking distance
learning classes via the Internet. The International Data Corporation
estimates that the number of college students enrolled in online courses will
reach
2.2 million by the year 2002. We believe the private/public sector growth of
test preparation and training will be following close behind.

In addition to all of this, market trends show that almost every school in
the United States will have a computer. This means that
accessibility will be a non-issue and that those coming of age to utilize
LWRD's products will be computer and Internet literate and accustomed to
using the Internet as a learning tool.

Corporate America is also showing a growing interest in distance education.
Faced with retraining an estimated 50 million American workers, corporations
are using distance learning in all aspects of training, both internally and
externally. Many major corporations like Hewlett-Packard save millions of
dollars each year using distance education to train employees more
effectively and efficiently than traditional methods.

Within our area of interest alone, budgeted spending on formal training by
U.S. organizations with 100 or more employers topped $60 billion in 1998 and
is estimated to grow to $62.5 billion in 1999. That is a 3.5 percent rise over
the previous year and a 29 percent increase since 1993, with neither figure
accounting for mild inflation. As always, salaries paid to internal training
staff make up the bulk of the budget. This salary total is up 2.4 percent
over the previous year and is now in excess of $43 billion. The fastest growing
segment, however, is outside expenditures and the $15 billion spent on the
commercial training market is a significant increase from 1998 (Training
Industry Magazine 1999).

Add to this the amount spent by companies with under 100 employees and for
test preparation of all kinds and we believe the total market will exceed $85
billion. It is easy to see that LWRD only needs a small portion of this
market to be hugely successful.

In fact, Learner's World is filing for patent protection for its products,
in order to protect what it believes is a unique combination of content and
delivery system.

Our strategy is to offer an extensive array of test preparation and training
courses covering needs in academics, health care, vocations and professions
in a dynamic and enjoyable fashion. A separate segment of the web site will
deal with custom designed training and test preparation courses for private
industry, government agencies and unions. We will create brand recognition
by implementing an aggressive advertising campaign emphasizing our benefits
including quality content, a learner community, support services, and a high
level of interaction.

Our pricing policy will make our site an enticing alternative to traditional
methods of learning (i.e. classroom and home study)
while still providing appropriate profit margins. Approximately 60% - 70% of
our offerings will be priced between $49.95 and $69.95 giving us an average
of approximately $60. It should be noted that with an average price of $40,
Amazon.com, a high flying Internet stock, has sales approaching $400
million. Due to our low entry price, it is possible that even when we are not the
first choice, we may still be a viable adjunct to the chosen method, thereby
giving us the same sales dollars as if we were the first choice.

The remainder of our tests, mostly in the professional and health care
series will range in price from $99.95 to $199.95. The corporate projects
requiring
custom developed content will be priced from the mid five figures to the low
six figures, with additional ongoing fees for web hosting and maintenance.

Once fully developed, we will have four distinct income streams. The users
paying to take test preparation and training courses.
Advertising sales, that will be significant because of the exceptional
demographics of our user base, which includes, students (both high school
and college), blue collar workers and professional and health care workers, most
of which fall into the sixteen to forty year old age group.
Corporate/government customers paying for the development of custom test
preparation and training courses and the ongoing fees for hosting and maintenance
of these custom projects. Lastly, the referral fees and royalties from Internet
based
retailers to whom we direct our user base.

Our future plans include acquiring additional web content through the
purchase of existing schools and/or courses, appropriate acquisitions and the
development of international markets as well as executing our marketing plan
for national growth.

If additional capital is raised it will be used to fund the continuation of
research and development, some of which is very sophisticated, requiring audio
and video highlights and skilled professionals for content. These courses will
sell
for considerably more than our base prices. We will also need to significantly
increase
our advertising to support our goal of growing our business on the national and
international level. This will allow us to take advantage of being first into
the market and to make sure we secure and hold a significant market share.
Initial advertising will be print, radio, and possibly subways and billboards.
The addition of an Informercial has been decided upon and, when budget
allows, TV spots will be added.

As the first into this marketplace, with a fully interactive, Internet based
offering, consisting of live chat rooms and audio/video feeds to support our
test preparation/training materials, we will be able to create a real user
community. We will develop a user base of people with common interests and
we are sure to get a significant share of this multi billion-dollar market. In
addition, the excellent demographics of our users are sure to be an attraction
to potential advertisers who will pay to advertise on LWRD's web site.

As always, we recommend that you investigate the Company independently.
We think you will like what you find.

Perspectives Weekend Edition - Nov 5
============================

Commentary
=========
What does it take to be a good trader? Many would say it is an excellent
understanding of the stock market, or perhaps a lot of good contacts.
Having access to technology and the ability to get trades in quickly are
important. But above all else, the one thing that is more important to
successful trading is something that seems very simple.

Discipline.

Sounds simple, yet it is the greatest failing of people who lose in the
stock market. Successful traders realize that they will not be right all
the time. Many successful traders are profitable on less than half their
trades. Given these losing probabilities, the reason winners make money is
because they cut losses short and let profits run. They have the discipline
to hit the eject button when they are proven wrong. And those who
consistently lose money? They hang on for the dream

Fear of taking a loss or fear of missing out on an uptrend cause many
market participants to hang on to losing positions. So often, these traders
tell themself that they will sell when the stock falls to a certain point.
However, when it does, they find a reason to establish a new limit. Too
much attention is paid to the story and not enough attention is paid to the
message that the market is giving.

When you take a position in a stock, you have to establish the point that
the market will prove you wrong. Whether you choose to base that point on
support and resistance levels, or the announcement of news, this point
represents a bad outcome of your trading decision. If triggered, the exit
sign is flashing. Head for the door.

Failure to take a loss when proven wrong will have two effects. First, it
will likely make a potentially small loss grow into a big one. Remember,
successful traders take small losses. A big loss takes more time, so it
also ties up capital. And it will take more profits to recover.

Second, it will create fear for the trader who is seeing profit and does
not want to feel the pain of a loss again. To avoid the potential
disappointment of another loss, some traders take profits too early simply
to lock in the good feeling that comes with making a win. Unfortunately, to
be a successful trader you have to limit losses and let profits run. If you
have small profits and big losses, well, you lose.

Maintaining discipline when trading is essential for success. If you have
it, only simple rules of trading are necessary for success. Be strong, it
is easier said than done.

Enough Said.

Stocks to Watch
============

Cisco Systems (CSCO)
NASDAQ
Stockscore - 69
Rating: Optimistic
Reference: http://www.cisco.com
- Cisco Systems provides networking solutions that connect computing
devices and computer networks, allowing people to access or transfer
information without regard to differences in time, place, or type of
computer system. The stock is at a critical point as it is testing overhead
resistance at $74. If it can break through that, we should see the stock go
into an uptrend. However, the resistance could prove tough to break and we
may see a pullback. With the recent positive behaviour that the stock has
made, I would suggest there is a pretty good chance of a breakout. Tech
stocks are looking good, and CSCO is a good candidate for a break to the
upside.

Lumenon Innovation (LUMM)
OTC BB
Stockscore -69
Rating - Optimistic
Reference - http://www.lumenon.com
- Lumenon was founded in Montreal in 1998 by two scientists, Dr. S. Iraj
Najafi and Dr. Mark P. Andrews. The Company was created to capitalize on
their widely publicized innovations in compact integrated optical circuit
design and glassy materials for integrated optics. Lumenon introduces
PHASIC™ the definitive optical chip technology based on a synergy of
unique design tools and innovations in proprietary hybrid glass integrated
optics on silicon. The company’s advances in glass integrated optics
position Lumenon to lead in the market for passive and active optical chip
product solutions for long-haul and short-haul telecommunications, desk-top
local area networks (LANs), multi-media LAN, Intelligent Home Network, as
well as fiber channel. The stock has been doing very well of late, having
appreciated better than 60% this week alone. That is a sign of euphoria,
and makes the stock a good candidate for a quick short trade. I expect
we'll see the stock pull back from the $14 level to perhaps the $11 level
early next week. If you are a nimble and experienced position trader, take
a look.

Valu-Net Corp (VNE)
ASE
Stockscore - 41
Rating - Neutral
Reference: http://www.vncorp.com
- Valu-net is a leading online marketing and technology company providing a
complete range of services to meet the growing demand for secure electronic
commerce. Valu-net provides integrated Internet marketing programs,
proprietary electronic commerce and secure transaction processing to both
traditional and on-line businesses and to Internet Service Providers. The
stock has had a good run recently, but was halted Thursday pending news.
VNE issued news Friday, stating that they would join forces with Applied
Innovations Group to build Computer Discount Depot Inc., a business to
consumer website. The stock is now at resistance, so I expect that we will
see it stall at these levels next week, and we may see profit taking. Could
still do well longer term, but it will probably take some time to chew
through the $1 level.

Image Power (IPZ)
VSE
Stockscore - 58
Rating - Neutral
Reference: http://www.imagepower.com
- Image Power Inc. is a developer of still image compression products and
technologies. Using the company's core technology combined with licensed
patents, Image Power produces image compression products for developers,
end user s, and embedded applications. This week, the company announced an
agreement with the University of British Columbia for the development of a
new wavelet color codec compliant with the JPEG2000 Commitee Draft. The
stock was hot this week, making better than a 65% gain this week. It looks
good to continue toward resistance at $0.70, but owners of the stock should
consider that there are a lot of sharholders in this stock at higher
prices, who may decide to take their money out on this strength. That
overhead makes the stock risky right now, so dance close to the door.

TD Bank (TD)
TSE
Stockscore - 60
Rating - Optimistic
Reference: http://www.tdbank.ca
- Toronto Dominion Bank is a chartered bank, serving individuals,
businesses, financial institutions and governments through a network of Cdn
branches. The bank also offers a range of credit, non-credit & financial
advisory services to businesses, gov ernments & correspondent banks through
offices worldwide. Subsidiaries (Waterhouse Inv.Serv., GreenLine) offer
discount brokerage & a full range of trust services. Financial stocks are
starting to look decent again as inflation fears subside and interest rates
begin to stabilize. TD has been reversing its downtrend over the past few
months and looks like it is gearing up to make a move back toward the $40
level in the months to come. Good stock to consider for the more
conservative portion of your portfolio.

The Scores - What They Mean
======================

***The scores that are attached to the stocks are based on a proprietary
model developed by Stockscores.com. This model factors in numerous
technical analysis indicators and utilizes the past 200 days of trading
data. Stocks that have not traded for 200 trading days will not have a
score calculated.

Scores greater than 70
Bullish
This stock is worth considering as a buying opportunity. Our model
indicates that the stock has good potential to go higher in the short term,
and is worth taking time to consider. Complete your due diligence on this
stock so that you can make your own judgement on the quality of the company
before making a decision, and remember that our score is valid for the
price that the stock is at when we applied the score. Of course, a score of
98 has more potential than a score of 72, but all stocks in this range
deserve your consideration. In addition, if you are short this stock, you
should consider covering the short position.

Scores between 60 and 70
Optimistic
Market activity is beginning to indicate improved optimism for this stock
and it should be put on a watch list as a stock to consider. If you already
like this company's fundamentals, you should now look for the signals that
the time is right to own the stock. If you own the stock, you are likely in
good shape but may want to consider taking profits if profits are high. If
you are short the stock, you should approach your position with some
caution and watch for the signal that it is time to cover.

Scores between 40 and 60
Neutral
Market activity is doing little to indicate the future direction of this
stock. The stock is likely in a trading range, or, if it has been in a
strong trend over the recent past, it may be starting to reverse that
trend. If you own this stock and are in a profitable position, you should
consider whether the stock is reversing and it may be time to take your
money off the table.

Scores between 30 and 40
Cautionary
Market activity is beginning to indicate caution is warranted for this
stock and it should be put on a watch list as a stock to sell or short. If
you believe that the company's fundamentals do not warrant the valuation
the stock has received, you should now look for the signals that the time
is right to short the stock. If you are already short the stock, you are
likely in good shape but may want to consider taking profits if profits are
high. If you are long the stock, you should approach your position with
some caution and watch for the signal that it is time to sell.

Scores less than 30
Bearish
Market activity is very negative on this stock and it may be very risky to
hold this stock. Shorting opportunities should be explored after doing the
appropriate due diligence. If the stock has suffered a major sell off
already, traders may want to watch for signs of a reversal bounce as a long
trading opportunity, but be sure to watch for the technical reversal which
will likely be accompanied by an increase in the stock score.

As a final thought on this new scoring system, it is important to consider
where the score has come from. A stock that moves from 60 to 75 is likely a
better opportunity than one that moves from 90 to 75. Also, consider where
the stock is relative to the score. Again, a stock that has made
considerable gains of late may have a good score, but entering the stock
given the gains it has made will be riskier. Risk is factored into the
model, but use some of this common sense.

Finally, remember that this model is generated by a computer and should not
be used to make investment decisions. It is a tool which can help you find
opportunities from the thousands of stocks that are out there. However, you
have to do the work to take the list of stocks with the scores you want
down to the stocks you want to put your money on.

Greetings GenBank Users,

GenBank Update files nc1105.aso.Z and nc1105.flat.Z, installed
on our ftp server on the morning of 11/05/1999, contained 21484
records that lacked sequence version numbers. Here's how the
VERSION line appeared for an affected record in nc1105.flat.Z :

LOCUS AQ844186 470 bp DNA GSS 02-NOV-1999
DEFINITION am34b10 JM101 filtered library Zea mays genomic, genomic survey
            sequence.
ACCESSION AQ844186
NID g6177826
VERSION AQ844186 GI:6177826
KEYWORDS GSS.

This problem stems from changes to the manner in which GSS
sequences are processed at NCBI that were made last week.
We have repaired the problem and confirmed that the version
numbers are now being generated correctly for these records.

Since users might have difficulty removing/patching 20,000+
records in their local systems, we have decided to delete the 1105
update files from the NCBI ftp site, and to make sure that
tomorrow's 1109 update contains *all* GenBank records processed
at NCBI since this problem first arose.

Loading the 1109 update should resolve any content problems that
might have resulted from processing the 1105 update.

We regret this error and apologize for any inconvenience that
it may have caused.

Mark Cavanaugh
GenBank
NCBI/NLM/NIH

PS: The nc1109 update files are expected to be rather large
(on the order of 400MB) due to a recent influx of new EST data
originating at DDBJ.

(LAST REVISION: 14-AUG-99)

This BIOSCI "miniFAQ" is designed to answer the questions that come up
the *most frequently*. The main BIOSCI FAQ (Frequently Asked
Questions) is accessible on the World Wide Web at URL
http://www.bio.net/.

If you can not find an answer to your question in this or other
documentation, the BIOSCI technical support staff answers e-mail
queries sent to

		       biosci-help@net.bio.net

We can only answer questions about the use of the newsgroups and
mailing lists. We unfortunately do not have the staff to do Internet
information searches or answer scientific questions. Please post
those to the appropriate BIOSCI/bionet newsgroups.

0) BIOSCI NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!!
------------------------------
BIOSCI's government funding has been expended, and we are now
operating solely from advertising revenue that we have raised from our
Web site at http://www.bio.net/. We need just a few minutes of your
time to help us serve you.

You can do two important things which will take very little time for
you individually and will immensely help us continue to help you.

First, please use our WWW system at http://www.bio.net/ to access the
archives. You can post or reply to messages via your Web browser as
described in item #1 below. Your usage helps attract sponsors. If you
contact any of our sponsors, please be sure to thank them for
supporting BIOSCI. It is critical for them to get this feedback if
they are to continue their sponsorship for the long term.

Second, if you work for a company or organization that provides
products or services of interest to the biology community, please pass
this message on to your marketing or marketing communications
department or other appropriate group. Please ask them to help
support BIOSCI by sponsoring our Web site and explain the uses and
benefits of the system to the biology community. If they are
interested, they can then contact us for further information at our
tech support address, biosci-help@net.bio.net.

1) Using the WWW to access the BIOSCI/bionet newsgroups.
--------------------------------------------------------
All BIOSCI/bionet full newsgroups are accessible through the World
Wide Web (WWW) at URL http://www.bio.net. One can read and reply
publicly or privately to both recent postings and archived messages
through one's Web browser if it is configured properly to send e-mail.
Each newsgroup is equipped with its own WAIS index. The main BIOSCI
home page also has access to the BIO-JOURNALS Table of Contents
database WAIS index and the BIOSCI user address database described in
another item further below.

2) What to do about "spams," i.e., junk mail, ads, etc.
-------------------------------------------------------
BIOSCI is a set of parallel USENET newsgroups (the "bionet" groups),
mailing lists, and a hypermail archive at URL http://www.bio.net/.
The same postings are distributed on all media (except for a small
number of mailing-list-only groups at net.bio.net). Unfortunately it
is becoming a despicable practice on the Internet (by a few people out
to make a fast buck) to do automated mass postings to thousands of
newsgroups and mailing lists. These attempts to grab free advertising
are refered to as "spams" in the usual, somewhat boneheaded, net
terminology. USENET is more susceptible to this practice, and many
spams originate on the USENET groups and then are passed on to the
mailing lists. However, spammers also get lists of mailing addresses
and hit these too, so neither medium is immune.

What should you do personally if you get junk mail?
---------------------------------------------------
Just delete it and move on without reading it further. Filing a
protest is becoming increasingly useless because spammers are often
disguising the addresses where the messages are sent from. Unless you
really understand Internet mail systems, your attempt at protest by
sending replies to the message will often end up being sent to the
address of an innocent person that the spammer is victimizing.

What can BIOSCI/bionet do to protect its newsgroups?
----------------------------------------------------
The only solution currently available is to moderate the newsgroup.
If this newsgroup is already moderated, then you are in good shape.
Moderation protects the USENET distribution from about 95% of the
spams that are being sent to date and protects the mailing lists
completely. Moderation means, however, that someone has to take the
time to review each message before it goes out. We have set up
software here that simply allows the moderator to forward to an
address at net.bio.net messages that (s)he wishes to have distributed.
This takes no more time than that needed to read the message and pass
it on, say about 1 min. per message.

Most newsgroups currently have a discussion leader who is responsible
for their newsgroup. The discussions leaders and their e-mail
addresses are listed in the BIOSCI Information Sheet which is
available on the Web at http://www.bio.net/. If a newsgroup is being
hit with too many junk postings, please contact the discussion leader
for that group and see if there is interest in moderating the group.
Please do not assume that by simply posting a complaint to the
newsgroup itself, anyone on the BIOSCI staff will act on your
complaint. With close to 100 newsgroups to run, the BIOSCI staff has
to rely on the discussion leaders of each newsgroup to report problems
directly to us at biosci-help@net.bio.net.

We will moderate any of our newsgroups if the discussion leader tells
us that the readership of the group wishes to do so and if a moderator
is willing to do the work. For most BIOSCI/bionet groups, this
entails only a few minutes of work each day.

Moderating a newsgroup will resolve probably 95% of the junk postings
on the USENET distribution. Unfortunately there are easy ways for
determined spammers to override the moderation mechanism on USENET,
but we can protect our e-mail subscribers from unwanted postings if
the newsgroup is moderated. You can also access our newsgroups over
the WWW at URL http://www.bio.net. While this Web interface will not
stop spammers from trying to post to the groups, this will give you
yet another way, besides using USENET news, to keep the junk out of
your personal mail files. For those of you with local USENET news
systems, the Web interface will also give you faster access to new
newsgroups and recent postings.

3) Examples of subscribing and unsubscribing to the mailing lists.
------------------------------------------------------------------
PLEASE NOTE: The BIOSCI management does NOT act on
subscription/unsubscription requests that are posted improperly to the
newsgroups and mailing lists. People who do this only bother everyone
on the lists to no avail. Please be sure to follow the proper
procedures below.

Gory details are in the BIOSCI Information sheets on the Web at
http://www.bio.net. Below we give an example utilizing the
METHODS-AND-REAGENTS list at both of our two BIOSCI sites:

Users in the Americas and Pacific Rim countries who use the BIOSCI
------------------------------------------------------------------
node at computer net.bio.net:
----------------------------

A) Determine the "listname" which is the <=8 character mail address
                                         ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
for the group. These can be found in the BIOSCI Info. Sheet. For
the METHODS-AND-REAGENTS group the mailing address is
methods@net.bio.net. The listname is the portion of the address to
the left of the @ sign, i.e., "methods". The listname is used with
the "subscribe" and "unsubscribe" commands illustrated below.

B) Mail all commands in the body of a mail message addressed to
biosci-server@net.bio.net. Do NOT send commands to the newsgroup
posting addresses! Leave the Subject: line blank, any text on it
   will be ignored.

C) In the body of your message put one or more of the following
commands with an "end" command on the last line, e.g.,

   subscribe methods
   unsubscribe methods
   end

Do NOT put your e-mail address or other text on these lines. The
server only allows you to cancel your subscription if the address
on your mail header matches the address on our mailing list.
Please ask for help at biosci-help@net.bio.net if your address has
changed, e.g., if you know you are on the list but the server tells
you that you are not a member.

Users in Europe, Africa, and Central Asia who use the BIOSCI node at
--------------------------------------------------------------------
the UK-HGMP-Resource Centre (known as hgmp.mrc.ac.uk):
-----------------------------------------------------

A) Determine the "listname" which is the <=8 character mail address
                                         ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
for the group. These can be found in the BIOSCI Info. Sheet. For
the METHODS-AND-REAGENTS group the mailing address is
methods@hgmp.mrc.ac.uk. The listname is the portion of the address to
the left of the @ sign, i.e., "methods". The listname is used with
the "subscribe" and "unsubscribe" commands illustrated below.

B) Mail all commands in the body of a mail message addressed to
majordomo@hgmp.mrc.ac.uk. Do NOT send commands to the newsgroup
posting addresses! Leave the Subject: line blank, any text on it
   will be ignored.

C) In the body of your message put one or more of the following
commands with an "end" command on the last line, e.g.,

   subscribe methods
   unsubscribe methods
   end

Please ask for help at biosci@hgmp.mrc.ac.uk if your address has
changed, e.g., if you know you are on the list but the server tells
you that you are not a member.

4) The BIOSCI user address and research interest directory.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Please take this opportunity to add your name, address, and research
interest information to the BIOSCI User Address Database if you have
not already done so.

You can fill out the address form directly through our Web page at URL
http://www.bio.net/adrform.html.

The address database is reindexed nightly for WWW access (the URL is
http://www.bio.net/). If you are not directly on the Internet but can
reach it by e-mail, please use our waismail server to access the user
directory. waismail use is described above. You can also request a
user address form by e-mail from biosci-help@net.bio.net.

Please check your database entry from time-to-time to see if your
address information is still up-to-date. Because of our limited
personnel resources, we ask that you resubmit a *complete* form to
revise your entry; we only replace complete entries and do not have
resources to edit old forms.

Perspectives Weekend Edition - Nov 12
============================

Commentary
=========
No strategy is 100% effective. Good analysis can reveal opportunities that
have high probabilities for success, but even good decisions will not
always have the expected result. However, when stocks that are showing many
signs of a directional move fail to make that move, there is a new
opportunity to reverse the position and make money on the opposite strategy.

To better understand why this is effective requires the understanding that
technical analysis is the use of market activity to anticipate new
information and measure market psychology. There are many speculators in
the market who each try to anticipate new developments before they are made
public. Often, they have access to better information and can predict the
future with success. However, the market sometimes surprises even those
closest to a company, creating disappointment for all those who took a
position in anticipation of the fundamental event. When the event does not
arrive or is countered by another, more significant event, the market can
quickly move in the opposite direction.

Consider this example. A company plans to launch a new and revolutionary
product. Those who follow the company closely are aware of the impending
launch, and are accumulating the stock in anticipation of the launch. Their
behavior in the market creates an optimistic trading pattern. It appears
the stock is ready to make a break to the upside and enter into an uptrend
motivated by the excitement of the new product. However, on the day before
the launch, the stock breaks lower from the optimistic pattern, giving an
indication that something is wrong.

In this particular example, news came out about a week after this breakdown
that a much larger and more recognized company had developed a similar
product that would compete for the same customer. The market showed a
belief that our example would not win against the more recognized company.

The lesson to be learned is simple. If the market goes against numerous
signals, it is likely due to some new information. The information is
significant enough to reverse the market’s psychology, and this reversal
has good potential to continue through time. Smart traders recognize that
the original assessment has changed, and reverse the position in time to
take advantage of the impending move.

Stocks to Watch
============

Cisco Systems (CSCO)
NASDAQ
Stockscore - 78
Rating: Bullish
Reference: http://www.cisco.com
- last week, I discussed the likelihood of a breakout through the $74
range, and how it would likely indicate an uptrend. The market appeared to
want to break to the upside, and it did this week when the company
announced better than expected results. Since Friday, the stock is up about
14% for the week. With the recent gains and the cold start on Friday, I
think we could see CSCO pull back a bit next week on some profit taking. We
may see a 50% retracement of the recent gains, to the $78 price range.

Scansoft (SSFT)
OTC BB
Stockscore - 53
Rating - Neutral
Reference - http://www.scansoft.com
- ScanSoft is a developer of digital imaging software for the small
office/home office markets. SSFT's products capture and convert paper
documents and photographs into digital documents and images. The company
closed deals with Microsoft on Wednesday and Hewlett Packard on Thursday,
which have sent the stock much higher over the past week. The stock has
probably gone too high on the euphoric trading activity, and looks like it
will experience a bit of gravity early next week. Already off of its highs,
but we could see it pull it back to the $7 or $8 level. Great stock for
trading because of the volume and liquidity.

Net Shepherd (WEB)
ASE
Stockscore - 66
Rating - Optimistic
Reference: http://www.netshepherd.com
- more than the story, I want to discuss the chart and this past week's
trading on Net Shepherd as it demonstrates the best situation to bottom
fish a stock. Stocks that are in steep downtrends often attract bargain
hunters, but it is difficult to know the best entry point. The simple
question is, when is the downtrend over and the uptrend beginning? To help
answer this, go look at a chart of Net Shepherd. The stock broke the
downtrend on October 5th, but then went into a consolidation pattern for
about a month. What is important to note is that the consolidation was
higher than the most recent low, forming what is called a rising bottom.
For bargain hunters, look for stocks that are starting to trade bigger
volume and are making breaks from these rising bottoms. WEB did that on
Wednesday, closing at $3.20. It ended the week at $3.89 and looks like it
can move toward teh $4.50 range in the near term.

Unique Broadband Systems (UBS)
VSE
Stockscore - 72
Rating - Bullish
Reference: http://www.uniquesys.com
- UBS is involved in the design, manufacture and marketing of wireless
broadband solutions for broadcast and telecommunications industries. The
stock has been very active lately, and making a good run. This brought news
today stating that there is no material change. They are probably promoting
their story on one of the deals they are working with some large US
companies. I expect we'll see the stock pull back to the $0.95 range in the
short term. Longer term, some deals may take this stock higher. Good for
traders, but volatile so be cautious of the risk.

TD Bank (TD)
TSE
Stockscore - 92
Rating - Bullish
Reference: http://www.tdbank.ca
- I discussed TD Bank last week as one to consider for the conservative
part of your portfolio as it looked like it wanted to go higher. It has
done well this week and looks like it can continue to go toward the $40
target price.

The Scores - What They Mean
======================

SORRY IF THIS AD HAS OFFENDED YOU IN ANYWAY. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE AD PLEASE NO FLAMES, JUST DELETE, YOU TAKE MORE TIME TO COMPLAIN THEN TO JUST DELETE.
Now to explain how the whole process works. First of all, you tell us how many e-mail addresses you would like us to send your advertisement to--you may either e-mail, fax, or snail-mail a hard copy of your ad to us.

We will then place your ad in our database so it will be ready to be sent out anytime thereafter. Say for instance you wanted 1-million e-mails sent--once we receive your payment it will take about 3-4 days to be completed, unless you desire a more lengthy time frame, or need it done faster.

Right about now you might be wondering why you should choose us above the competitors. Well, we can sum it up for you in one simple word: Assurance. We are able to e-mail you an uploaded log of your sending in order to provide you with verification. These maillogs will display the time and date of the mailings as well as the actual e-mail addresses that your ad was sent to along with a "recipient okay" tag. This tag will confirm the address. We do not send you a whole log of the mailing, but just a port
In addition to this, we offer targeted lists just starting at $400.00 for 1 million. Finally, I must inform you that your ad, if being sent to AOL, may have all the HTML, colored and enlarged fonts as well as colored background. When you are ready to order, just contact us and we will e-mail you an work order for you to sign and send with your payment. For the target lists it is best that you call or e-mail back to us letting us know what type of target and we will let you know if we have the target yo
Some of our targets that we have are: business opportunity seekers, cigar smokers, people seeking health products, homeowners, all females, all males, adult site seekers, some of the major states in the US, online purchasers, singles, golf related interests, sports fanatics, please call for more info, most targets are on request basis, it really just depends on what you are searching for. Our targets are gathered by search keywords or member directory data bases like from AOL, Bigfoot or Mindspring, etc

Greetings GenBank Users,

For several months, lists of all nucleotide and protein accession
numbers that are live and public within the GenBank database have
been generated on a weekly basis and installed in the genbank/livelists
directory at the NCBI ftp site. However, this new data product hasn't
been formally announced (until now).

An excerpt from the README.genbank file:

	ftp://ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genbank/README.genbank

that describes the lists in more detail is enclosed below. If you
still have questions about the accession number lists after reading
it, please send them to the NCBI Service Desk:

	info@ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Mark Cavanaugh
GenBank
NCBI/NLM/NIH

===============================================================================

FTP Site: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
Directory: genbank/livelists
URL: ftp://ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genbank/livelists/

This directory contains lists, generated weekly on Sunday evening at
approximately 6:00pm EST/EDT, of all nucleotide and protein accessions
in GenBank. File names for these lists are of the form:

	GbAccList.MMDD.YYYY.Z

where MM represents a 2-digit value for the month, DD represents a 2-digit
value for the day, and YYYY represents a four-digit value for the year.
These files have been compressed with the Unix compress command, hence the
".Z" suffix.

Each line of these lists contains three comma-delimited values: accession
number, sequence version number, and NCBI GI identifier. Protein accessions
can be easily distinguished from nucleotide accessions because they have a
three-letter prefix, followed by five digits. The remaining accessions are
nucleotide accessions, in either a one-letter/five-digit format or a
two-letter/six-digit format.

Here's an example from the accession list for AF093062 and its protein
translation AAC64372 :

	AF093062,2,6019463
	AAC64372,2,6019464

In the GenBank flatfile representation of AF093062, these fields can be
found on the VERSION line and in the /protein_id and /db_xref qualifiers of
the coding region feature:

LOCUS AF093062 2795 bp DNA INV 12-OCT-1999
DEFINITION Leishmania major polyadenylate-binding protein 1 (PAB1) gene,

In the ASN.1 representation of AF093062, these fields can be found within
the Bioseq.id chain of the nucleotide and protein bioseqs:

Perspectives Weekend Edition - Nov 19
=====================================

Commentary
==========
The concepts of support and resistance are among the most important in
technical analysis. They represent psychological barriers that can impede a
stock’s move, but can also be utilized to anticipate new information. When
making a visual assessment of a stock chart, a solid understanding of
support and resistance can help investors determine entry and exit points
for profitable trading.

Simply, support is a floor price that the market for a stock has shown a
hesitation to break through in the past. The more times a stock touches
this floor price, the stronger the support is said to be. It can be defined
by a low point in trading, or by a period of price consolidation.

It is not uncommon for support prices to occur at even dollar values, as
these tend to be psychological barriers for market participants. The longer
the time period that the level of support has held up, the more important
it is. Stocks that penetrate strong levels of support often head lower.

Defining support is relatively simple. Looking at the stock chart, find
areas where the stock has trade sideways for a period or, a low point in
recent trading. If the stock has pushed the floor price on numerous
occasions, then that level of support will be strong as it holds greater
significance in the memories of investors.

>From an investor’s standpoint, the level of support can serve as an exit
point from a long position, or an entry point for a short position. If a
stock penetrates a support level after a period of consolidation and
general pessimistic trading, it often heads lower. Owners of stocks that
are testing support should be wary of the downside risk that is evident,
and may want to exit the position if that support level is violated. Short
sellers should look at these situations as an opportunity to make a
successful trade on an abnormal downward move.

As a caveat, however, it should be recognized that support often serves as
a potential reversal point for negative market psychology. If a stock is
undervalued, it often bounces off of support and reverses a downtrend.
While this can happen, it is more the exception than the rule. In these
situations, be sure that the bounce actually breaks the market’s pessimism
and is not just a feeble attempt to dissuade the inevitable downward trend.

Resistance is just the opposite of support. Instead of a floor price, it is
a ceiling that the market has shown an unwillingness to trade above. For a
stock to break through resistance often requires a dramatic shift in
psychology, often brought by positive new information.

To find the line of resistance, look at the stock chart and seek out high
points or trading ranges. High points provide an upper limit of value for
the stock, and trading ranges define an area where the market had a strong
consensus on the value of the company. As with support, the more often a
stock touches the line of resistance, the stronger that ceiling is. Again,
resistance often forms at even dollar values as they sit well in the minds
of investors.

Investors want to pay attention to a stock’s resistance point, because a
break through that point is often followed by an uptrend. Theoretically,
resistance represents the maximum the market is willing to pay for the
company. If the market becomes willing to pay more than that price, it is
often because there are new developments that make the company worth more.
Stocks that are trading near their resistance point have the potential to
show upside volatility as the market is showing expectations for new
information.

Stocks that come through with positive new developments are able to break
through resistance and go into uptrends. Those that don’t live up to the
market’s optimistic expectations often bounce off the ceiling price and
remain in the trading range. Legitimate breakouts are often combined with
an abnormal trading volume at the time of the breakout.

Understanding support and resistance is essential to becoming a successful
technical investor. They act as visible thresholds indicating the state of
market psychology. Breakouts and breakdowns are strong signals for
directional moves that should not be ignored. Experience in visual
assessment of charts and their levels of support and resistance will help
determine exit and entry points for investors.

Stocks to Watch
===============

I-Party (IPTY)
OTC BB
Stockscore - 67
Rating - Optimistic
Reference - www.iparty.com
- word is that the guy who promoted Wi-Lan is going to begin working on
this stock next week, along with numerous other promoters as they push the
stock higher to meet the listing requirements of the AMEX. I-Party wants to
list there so they can go after larger investors as they build their
business. Very impressive board and management, this company intends to
become the premier brand in the on-line party industry and the leading
resource on the Internet for consumers seeking party goods, party services,
party planning advice and information, and personalized video greetings
called "Star Greetings" from celebrities. Market activity on Friday
indicates that something is going on so I think IPTY is worth looking at.
Check out the bios on the people behind this deal from their web site.

Applied Gaming Solutions (AGC)
ASE
Stockscore - 42
Rating - neutral
Reference: http://www.ags.ca
- a stock I have been following for a long time, AGC announced some pretty
positive news this week. The Vietnamese government has asked the company to
set up an Internet system to sell their lottery tickets. The backing of a
sovereign government gives a lot of credibility to an Internet lottery, and
presents pretty good potential for revenues. I expect there is more good
news coming out of this company, it looks like a good bottom fishing candidate.

Microsoft (MSFT)
NASDAQ
Stockscore - 32
Rating - caution
Reference: http://www.microsoft.com
- unless you have just fallen off the turnip truck, you are undoubtedly
familiar with Microsoft and the market share that they have in the computer
business. The pursuit of the US government to break their monopoly has
taken MSFT share prices lower while the rest of the tech sector has been
performing great over the past month. It looks to me that MSFT may have
found its short term bottom and we could see a bounce back next week. Good
chance we'll see it come back in the short term although the longer term
outlook is still a bit bearish. Traders should consider it.

Unique Broadband Systems (UBS)
VSE
Stockscore - 69
Rating - Optimistic
Reference: http://www.uniquesys.com
- UBS continues to be the most active stock on the VSE, but as I suggested
last weekend, the stock has pulled back this week. My call then was for the
stock to sell of to the $0.95 range and we are still not there, having
closed at $1.14 for the week. I still think we can see a test of the $1
level before a bounce comes. Longer term, the stock has potential, but with
euphoria comes profit taking. The company is involved in the design,
manufacture and marketing of wireless broadband solutions for broadcast and
telecommunications industries.

Trident Microsystems (TRID)
NASDAQ
Stockscore - 98
Rating - Bullish
Reference: http://www.tridentmicro.com
- Trident announced today the world's first single-chip digital television
video processor, the DPTV. Market seemed to be pretty impressed because it
sent the stock to a new high. Technically, the breakout to new highs on
strong volume is very positive technically, making this stock worth looking
into. Looks like it could outperform the broader market in the near term.

The Scores - What They Mean
======================

Hallo to everybody who is working on cDNA library construction.
Since a long time ( to long) I try to construct a cDNA library of human
epithelial cells Me180.For that I use the Promega Kit and the expression

vector pcDNA3.1.
But until now I couldn´t get any successful cloning and in the case of
the cDNA I don´t have an idea to check the quality, for example of the
adaptor ligation.
O.K so if somebody is sitting in the same shit or, please contact me to
exchange experiences.
Or maybe there is somebody who got the problem and can help me - that
would be great.
I am also interest in a made Me180 cDNA library, if it exist in
somebodies lab. Or who knws, where I can buy such a library.

would be great to hear from you

Perspectives Weekend Edition - Nov 26
=====================================

Commentary
==========

Couple of points that deserve discussion this week:

- subscription and removal instructions are found at the end of the email.

- the Stockscores rating is based on a model that I created which factors
in about 40 different technical analysis indicators. It measures price,
volume and momentum activity to arrive at a score indicating overall
technical analysis strength. Technical analysis is the use of market
activity to reveal private information and market psychology. Using
technical analysis is often a good way for investors to evaluate whether
the market has already priced in fundamental information, or whether the
market even cares. The Stockscores are generated by a computer based on
this model, and will soon form the basis for a website where you will be
able to get the Stockscore on any stock each day. The site will also have
some great strategies and tools for scanning the market for opportunities.

- if you enjoy trading the market, I suggest you try the two-week free
trial to the Daily Edition. Each night, I check the market for trading
opportunities and let the subscribers know about them. In the past couple
of weeks, I have discussed stocks like CYLK ($8 3/4 to $13 1/8 in two
weeks), ICBL ($7.75 to $11.75 in two weeks), T.FCP ($1.13 to $1.40 in a
week and a half) and TDSC ($6 3/8 to $7 15/32 in two weeks). In addition to
finding some good opportunities, it is also a good way to learn more about
using technical analysis to find trades. Trial is free, year long
subscription is $125. If you wish to receive the trial, send a request to
stockperspectives@home.com.

Stocks to Watch
===============

Ameridex Minerals (AMD)
VSE
Stockscore - 74
Rating - Optimistic
Reference - (604)531-9639
- This stock looks like it could see a move higher over the next few weeks.
The company has diversified into the Internet business, and started a web
site at www.liquidationshop.com. On this site, they utilize a digital
compression technology that they have licensed from a company called
Digital Accelerator Corp. Once you download the plug-in, the speed of
downloading graphics is pretty amazing. Word is we'll see an announcement
concerning this technology soon. With the success of CFLO this week
(Cacheflow is a deal that speeds up Internet downloading and begain trading
this week, hitting $126 on the opening day), looks like these kind of
technologies are capturing the market's interest. Management was at Comdex
last week and told me that they had some good discussions which may
generate some new deals. AMD has a good share structure, so positive news
should mean a quick run higher. This company is worth doing your
due-diligence on.

I-Party (IPTY)
OTC BB
Stockscore - 67
Rating - Optimistic
Reference - www.iparty.com
- these guys are working on getting an AMEX listing over the next few
weeks, and are meeting with the AMEX listings people on Dec 7th. Came up
this week as the word started to get out, should see more strength as they
get closer to the move. There are whispers of a very big deal being
discussed, but I have no idea what. Could be a takeover or joint venture
with a major Internet company, but that is only a guess on my part. Very
strong management group with great contacts. Good stock to consider for the
next few months.

Predict-It (PRIT)
OTC BB
Stockscore - 70
Rating - Optimistic
Reference: http://www.predictit.com
- PRIT's business is the development and distribution of interactive
Internet applications. Their innovative "prediction exchange" system allows
users to pick and exchange predictions with other users. The Predict It
engine lends itself to calculating predictions for any set of events whose
outcome can be measured objectively. The company's initial product
offering, "Predict It Sports," allows users to pick and exchange
predictions on sporting events with fellow users. Their database engine
then calculates the accuracy of those predictions and allows other users to
view the entries. Kind of a fun product. Word I am hearing from a good
source is that this company has a bunch of news and intend to move the
stock higher in the next couple of weeks. Market activity supports the
rumor, as the stock started trading more volume over the last week and
broke the downtrend. Looks like it has good potential to make a move
higher, worth checking out.

Avanir Pharmaceuticals (AVNR)
OTC BB
Stockscore -
Rating -
Reference: http://www.avanir.com
- I featured this stock to our daily edition readers earlier this week and,
although it has moved up a bit already, I think it can still go higher so I
thought it was worth discussing in the weekend edition. The company makes a
treatment for oral/facial herpes. At first, the FDA turned down their
request for approval as a pharmaceutical drug, but after an appeal, the FDA
not only approved the treatment, but made it eligble for over-the-counter
sales. They are in discussions with 7 drug companies for a joint venture on
distribution, and expectations are that we will see news on a deal pretty
quick. Market activity showing a good deal of anticipation, looks like it
can go higher.

Unique Broadband Systems (UBS)
VSE
Stockscore - 81
Rating - Bullish
Reference: http://www.uniquesys.com
- I have told you for a couple of weeks that UBS would likely pull back to
$0.95 before it could make a bounce. Well, it pulled back to a low of $0.91
on Monday before it made its bounce. I have to say, I did not expect to see
the stock bounce back so well, as it closed the week at $2.49. Looks very
strong right now, but it is also very risky at these prices. Great trader
as liquidity is strong and there is lots of volatility.

Cisco Systems (CSCO)
NASDAQ
Stockscore - 82
Rating - Bullish
Reference: http://www.cisco.com
- Cisco still has a bullish rating, but its score has been dropping and I
think it may see some profit taking soon. The stock has had a great run
since I featured it as a candidate for a move higher a few weeks ago. If
you own this stock and are a trader, you may want to watch for signs that
it is time to take your profits off the table. Could see a pullback to the
$83 level or so. Exercise some caution.

The Scores - What They Mean
======================
