June 1, 2000 -- Conference Announcement

Phage Display Conference
"Understanding Phage Display: Structure, Biology and Applications"
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Thursday, September 21st through Saturday, September 23, 2000.
---------------

Nature and Importance of the Conference:
"Understanding Phage Display" -- its structure, biology and applications
is the focus of a conference on Phage Display which will be held in
Vancouver, Canada this September.

There are currently about 4-6 meetings on Phage Display per year; however,
none of them address the biological or structural bases of the technology.
Each session of the Vancouver conference will
combine talks on the basic science of a given aspect of phage biology
pertinent to phage display with talks on applications of phage display
technology to problems in biomedicine, structural biology,
biochemistry, etc.

The reason for this plan is to lead the speakers and audience into a
natural discussion of biological and structural constraints of phage
display and, perhaps, to new ideas on how to overcome or circumvent them.

We have deliberately planned a small conference -- with an anticipated
attendance of 150 delegates -- so that we can create a 'workshop'
atmosphere.
