Ideally, you should have experience of PCR, DNA-sequencing, sequence alignment and molecular systematics; though applicants with general molecular biological experience will be considered. Some field work in the =46ar East may be involved. Experience of, or a willingness to work in a tropical environment is essential. An interest in parasitology or malacology would be helpful but is not essential. Similarly, an ability to speak Chinese (Mandarin) or Thai would be an advantage. You must have a bachelor's degree in the biological or life sciences (2.2 or above) with some experience of research work at the time of appointment. You should be an adaptable, self-disciplined individual capable of working productively in the absence of close supervision when necessary and have good organisational, IT and team-working / collaborative skills.
