Define Chromosome

Anony! someone at something.com

Hi,

Some say a chromosome is a rod-like structure containing DNA. Others say its
2 chromatid pairs joined together at the centromere forming a X structure.
It appears that the definition differs depending on the context. Anyone like
to clarify?

Thanks
