OK, I figured this out:

[root wmake]#export ACEDB_SRC=/home/Database/Soft/sources_acedb
[root wmake]#export
ACEDB_MACHINE=/home/Database/Soft/sources_acedb/wmake/LINUX_LIBC5_4

Just to check:

[root wmake]# echo $ACEDB_SRC
/home/Database/Soft/sources_acedb
[root wmake]# echo $ACEDB_MACHINE
/home/Database/Soft/sources_acedb/wmake/LINUX_LIBC5_4

Then, following the aceclient help file, make aceclient produced the
following:

[root wmake]#make aceclient
To compile, please setenv ACEDB_MACHINE (now =
/home/Database/Soft/sources_acedb/wmake/LINUX_LIBC5_4 ) to one of:
/bin/sh:
cd: wmake: Aucun fichier ou répertoire de ce type ALPHA_4_DEF
ALPHA_CHRONO_4_DEF IBM_4_DEF NEC_4_DEF SGI_4_DEF
SOLARIS_4_NEW_DEF ALPHA_4_GCC_DEF ALPHA_G3_DEF
IRIX4_4_DEF

POSIX_4_GCC_DEF SOLARIS_4_DEF SUN_4_NEW_DEF without the _DEF
ending,
i.e. add in your .login file the line setenv ACEDB_MACHINE
SUN or
some other machine name defined in the directory wmake. Thank you

make: *** [bin-dir] Error 1
[root wmake]#

I have tried other LINUX_DEF, but got the same result.

If someone could help me on that....
