Applications are invited for a Computational Molecular Biology
specialist to join the John Innes Centre's (JIC)
computing/bioinformatics service. S/he will be responsible for providing
high level scientific and technical support to end-users in the fields
of sequence analysis and database searching. The successful applicant
will be expected to proactively develop the service to ensure that JIC
scientists will have access to state of the art facilities.
Applicants are likely to have a degree (although a PhD is desirable) in
an appropriate subject and be able to demonstrate 3 or more years of
practical
experience in relevant areas such as UNIX system admin, shell
programming, Perl, HTML authoring and, of course, use of sequence
analysis software. This is a permanent position and salary on
appointment will be within the range £21,800 to £31,500. There is a
non-contributory superannuation scheme.
