Ironwood is a pretty general term.........our local ironwood is the species
Erythoxleum chlorostachys [genus may not be spelt abolsolutely correctly]
which is used for high quality cabinet furniture eg table tops.  The best
source of info on SE Asian timberss is Plant Resources of S E Asia 
Project at Bogor in Indonesia.  That address will find them.  Will
