I am an archeologist interested in the ecology of certain tree species
that were likely of economic importance to hunter-gatherer groups in
south-central texas, especially pecan, walnut and hickory. I would like to
know several things: 1)annual production of these species, and how and why nut
production varies from year to year (per tree basis); 2) some estimate of
density of pecan, walnut and hickory in optimal and less than optimal habitats
3)general ecology of these species.

All suggestions welcomed,
