Does anyone know what the substance is in American Cedarwood that gives it its
unique smell? I have a sample of it and am tring to find a South African tree
that has a similar smell. Failing that, I'd like to synthetically produce the
cedarwood smell.

On a slightly different tack, I heard that pieces of American Cedar repells
moths, in the same way that napthalene moth balls do. Anyone know if this is
true.

Please mail your replies directly to me.
Thanks.
