There is something stirring in the capital..... Rumor has it that this
something could be the biggest thing that's happened to the environment
movement in years!!!
It's called the FOREST EMBASSY and it's going to be 4 days of protest,
campaigning, fun, theatre, friends, music, discussion, children's
entertainment, camping, dancing, bands, displays, workshops and heaps more!!!
The forest Embassy will be held at the new Parliament House from the
4th-8th of November and is presented by a united conservation movement.
People are coming from all over Australia and we are catering for over
2000 people. SO WE WOULD LOVE YOU ALL TO COME ALONG.
The embassy is part of an ongoing campaign to protect our high
conservation value forest (such as rainforest, old growth and wilderness
forest) and end export woodchippinh. The timing of the Embassy is
designed to exert maximum pressure on the federal government who are
currently considering granting export woodchipping licenses. DO YOUR BIT
TO HELP SAVE THE FORESTS.
What you can do:
-come and pitch a tent, visit or join in
-send a letter of support for the forests to Mr Keating or your local MP
or ring him direct on 06 277 7700
-spread the word, tell your community, contact us on 06 249 6491
-contact a local media group or celbrity and ask them to increase
awareness of the issue and promote the Embassy.
-make a donation
