prescribe fire effects on soil

Is anyone out there studying the effects of fire on the soil environment?   I 
am working in the boreal mixedwood forest, looking at the ecological impacts 
that  variable fuel loadings have on the soil of this forest type.  We have 
eight ten hectare blocks, all with different amounts of fuel present.  They 
will be burned in the spring of 1995.
