ACADEMIC VACANCY
Silviculture of Forest Plantations (Eucaliptus and Pine)
Forestry Department - 'Luiz de Queiros' School of Agriculture
University of Sao Paulo
Piracicaba, SP - BRAZIL

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the above 
position at the Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil.  The minimum 
qualification on appointment is the Ph.D. or equivalent.  Fluency in 
Spanish or Portuguese is required.  Applications must be received

Selected candidates will be invited to a second phase scheduled to 
November 7, 8 and 9  1994.  The second phase selection phase includes an 
interview, a written exam and the presentation of a seminar.  Results 
will be announced by mid November.

Prospective candidates are supposed to be knowledgeable in forest 
nurseries, seedling and sapling trees production, soil conservation 
and preparation, forest fertilization, forest planting techniques, weed 
control, natural and artificial pruning, thinning, forest regeneration, 
fire control and forest plantation renewals.
