estrogen effects on rose blooms

Please inform: it has been suggested by a colleague that her rose blooms are
larger, because of supplemental estrogen as a 'fertilizer." Is this possible?
I am aware of estrogen having been used in the poultry industry and was
curious if this idea is far fetched. I have some background in biology
and biochemistry, so I am curious about any comments on the subject.
