In article <3fu82v$ksc at tukki.cc.jyu.fi>, ala at tukki.cc.jyu.fi (Ari Lampinen) says:
>Can anyone point out reliable sources of deforestation rates in developing
>countries, especially Nepal?
>I currently have three figures for annual deforestation rates in Nepal:
>3.9%, 3.0% and 1.0%. It is confusing!
>Also, world tropical deforestation rate estimates vary from 0.8% to 1.8%.
Nepal loses approximately 54,000 ha per year in forests. This amounts to a loss of 1%.
For deforestation rates in other countries of Asia-Pacific region please refer to a recent publication
