I am not sure what the linden baum tree is. But in response to Joseph
Norton's reply: The tulip tree is also called yellow-poplar,
Liriodendron tulipifera. Basswood, on the other hand, is Tilia
americana. Perhaps the lumber trade refers to these woods
interchangeably, but you may actually be talking about different
species.
It would help if someone could tell us the scientific name for linden baum.
