The 8th Annual Meeting of the
National Agricultural Biotechnology Council

**** Pre-Announcement ****

Agricultural Biotechnology:
Novel Products & New Partnerships

June 5-7, 1996
Hosted by member institution: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey
New Brunswick, New Jersey

Major Questions for 1996

… Should we be creating new market opportunities? If so, how? If not, why not?
… What are the viewpoints held by consumers, industry representatives, farmers, government officials, academe and environmentalists?
… Do regulations have a place in the field?
… What is the economic impact of the technology?

The food industry, chemical and pharmaceutical industries and environmental and energy industries are poised on the brink of bringing new products to the forefront. The 8th annual NABC meeting will focus debate on the multiple social, ethical, economic and research, developmental and commercialization issues that these new products pose and need to be addressed by consumers, farmers, industry, environmentalists, government and academe.

NABC 8 will include three days of in-depth, informative sessions comprising invited paper presentations and workshop sessions. NABC 8 continues the tradition of providing a forum where people of diverse backgrounds and viewpoints can exchange practical information, share ideas, and expand their network of contacts.
