The U.S. Forest Service, The California Dept. of Conservation, Columbia College, and Condor Earth 
Technologies, Inc. are pleased to announce The Fifth Annual Natural Resources GIS/GPS Training, 
Conference, and Exhibition.  The conference will be held at Columbia College on May 28, 29 & 30, 1996. 
Columbia College is located in the historic Motherlode of the Sierra Nevada foothills near  Sonora, California. 

The conference will include introductory through advanced lectures, as well as hands-on training 
workshops and vendor exhibits.  The goal of the conference is to promote GIS/GPS education for those 
working in natural resource industries and related government agencies.  Vendors such as Autodesk, CMT, 
ERDAS, ESRI, Intergraph, Kalidor, USGS, Lambda Tech International, Magellan, and Trimble have 
exhibited in the past.  The conference has been recognized for the useful information presented in the 
hands-on training sessions.  

This year's topics will include GIS Data Exchange, GPS Data Collection, and the use of GIS/GPS in  the 
fields of: Water Resources, Utilities, Forestry, Fire Management, Mining, Petroleum, and Agriculture. There 
will also be an orienteering competition, social events, and excellent food catered by the Columbia College 
hospitality management staff.  Enrollment limited to 300.  $390 for all three days or $175 for one day.  USFS
