I have a concern that I have not seen addressed in this area (possibly
because I am new to it).
Wouldn't (no pun intended) clearcutting remove a source of soil
fertility by removing a source of bio-chemical supply, as in the
rotting of trees which naturally die?
It seems to me that the health of any soil would be improved by
allowing nature to do what it has always done. Like supplying
nutrients through death.
Just a thought.
