New England Forestry Foundation
The New England Forestry Foundation was founded in 1944 as a non-profit
specifically to provide non-industrial private forest landowners in New
England with professional forest management services. Today the Foundation
owns over 18,000 acres of forestland and focuses its resources in three
ways: Land Conservation; Education, stewardship, and advocacy; and Regional
The Managing Director is the chief executive officer of the Foundation and
reports directly to the Board of Directors. Will oversee the daily
operations of the Foundation and coordinate a staff that includes a
Director of Land Protection, a Director of Education, a Comptroller and an
administrative staff assistant. Will be responsible for the preparation of
annual work plans, budget development, management of the Foundation's
Forests and all aspects of the relationship with its wholly owned forestry
The Managing Director will devote a significant portion of his/her time to
securing financial support for the organization and its projects. Working
with the Board, staff, and volunteers, the Managing Director will
participate in the cultivation and solicitation of individual, corporate
and planned giving gifts.
The Managing Director will direct the Foundation's regional forest policy
activities and work with all Foundation committees consisting of staff,
Board members, and volunteers.
