'Consequences': The Environmental Impact of Timber Throughout the
Lifecycle.

'Consequences', published by the Timber Trade Federation, marks a
significant development in the ongoing debate over environmental
issues. It provides strong arguments to promote the environmental
benefits of timber over other common construction materials such as
concrete, aluminium, steel and plastic. As a result of careful research
to ensure that all its claims are accurately based on quoted sources, it
vigorously highlights the fact that timber is the "green choice" when
assessing any construction materials holistically, on its total
environmental impacts - good and bad - throughout the life cycle, or
from "cradle to grave".

The complex issues of timber and the environment are fully laid out and
the subjects of resources, extraction, processing and manufacture,
transportation and disposal are dealt with fully, all supported with
substantial factual information.
