Most of what you say is absolutly correct. 

However for wood prodcution it take years to grow a tree while the hemp
plant has faster growth and harvesting. 

There is also a vast amout of virgin trees that go directly to pulp for
paper not just the chips and sawdust from lumber. 

Hemp can replace crops like tobacco. Hemp fiber is used in cloth makeing,
paper manufacturing and natural ropes. But it's greatest potential comes
not from 
replacing fiber that already exists but in it's ability to be converted
into gasahol. Which is a clean burning renewable fuel that can and will
have to replace focil fuels in the future.
