Sustainability is a big debate here in México and there is no easy approach
to the understanding of the term. Also, definitions for it depend on where
you stand (that is, if you are holding the pan's handle or if you are
inside the pan). Most forests in this country are in posession of agrarian
communities (indian communities and ejidos) and even though their forests
could help them improve their living standards, these communities are among
the poorest in the country. 

I like the definition of sustainability given in the Bruntland report, but
it is not more than words. It is up to us to find our own definitions for
it, and to make sustainability something more than plain words.
