Poplar seeds

Hi, Guys,
Can somebody tell me if poplar can be propogated by seeds, and if so,
where I can buy the seeds (especially in Australia).  We want to establish
tissue culture clones from these seeds.  If anybody in Australia who
already has clones of poplar trees (any species) and can give us some, we
will be very grateful.
