I had read somewhere that with lumber-crop trees one should cut behind
the collar, reducing the size of the defect due to faster woundwood
growth. Are you saing that if there is colar growing over a dead branch
it shoud be removed? or that branches that have no collar should be cut
as close as possible w/o removing bark? that is are silvicultural &
arboricultural practices similar here?
