90 year old foresters are working on their second set of knees and hip
joints. At least in the northwest the antioxidants are for rust.  

Actually there are a fair number of agroforest oriented property owners
here. Last year there was a conference in Port Townsend, WA on
alternative ag crops: floral brush, ginseng, mushrooms, nuts, curly
willow, bamboo, berrys, medicinal herbs, etc. Much of these could be
grown in wooded settings and provide a bit of extra $ for the owner. As
a consultant who aims at managing the woods/stream interface for the
benefit of both sides, I saw a lot of ways for an owner to offset the
"loss" of that portion of his income. This is a coming field; just
watch.
