Yes, your consultant is supposed to know more than you. If he feels that it is
not to wet to continue logging then he may be right. Just because rutting
occurs, it does not mean that it will have lasting effects on the soil. I would
suggest that you ask your consultant about having your property replanted in
pines after the logging operation is completed. If you have your property
replanted, then site preparation will be necessary, which will take care of the
rut removal.
