Hmmm... interesting. I'll remember that, next time I'm deep in the witch
hazel rich woods around here, and I'm having a "problem". <G>

My textbook of dendrology (Harlow and Harrar) mentions some uses of
other species in the widespread witch-hazel family, but says little
about Hamamelis virginiana.
