There is a book called "A nomenclature of timber" in hardwood & softwood
volumes showing uses, saw blade types & more.  It's the sort of thing to
give most people when constipated as it'll bore them shitless.  However,
it lists the main Aussie timbers in with all the others from around the
world.   Other than that, try Aus. forestry or whatever newsgroup.
