pre-emergents before poplar planting

Need information on pre-emergent herbicide use before planting hybrid poplars. I have had good success using both Princep and pendimethalin for pine, spruce and hardwood plantings, however Princep is not labeled for hybrid poplars. Please advise and share your experiences.
