Both trees and bamboo can be utilized to make paper. Then there are
bamboo floors, poles, furniture, and fences. Check the ABS website
www.bamboo.org/abs/ for a list of things that can be made from bamboo.
Here is an example with picures of some things made partly or in whole

BTW, interestingly there are a few tropical clumpers in which some or most
of the culm is solid. You may be able to identify these varieties by
searching the IBG Archive: http://home.ease.lsoft.com/archives/bamboo.html
