Both trees and bamboo can be utilized to make paper.  Then there are
bamboo floors, poles, furniture, and fences.  Check the ABS website for a list of things that can be made from bamboo.

Here is an example with picures of some things made partly or in whole
with bamboo.

BTW, interestingly there are a few tropical clumpers in which some or most
of the culm is solid.  You may be able to identify these varieties by
searching the IBG Archive:
