DHEA/deprenyl effects on aging. DHEA inhibits a number of enzymes implicated in the general control of the levels of oxidative stress. These include monoamine oxidase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. Why inhibition of these enzymes should slow aging (assuming it does) beats me. Maybe it!s just to do with slowing down metabolic rate?
