Even if CR does delay mitotic activity, surely you can understand that
the biological system is complex enough that such an effect may be both
benefical and harmful. If shortened telomeres are not an essential
causal contributor to any diseases or deaths of animals on CR, then
*that* particular "benefit" may in fact have no effect on health or
lifespan.
