Hypothalamus and Ageing

Dear Sir?Madam,
        I am currently studying for a HND in Sports Science and would like to ask you for information on how the Hypothalamus is related to ageing and why is it classed as a "timer" so that at the age of about 25-30 the human body starts to show age.
