I am currently working towards a PhD in Sabellid taxonomy and systematics,
concentrating mainly on the genus Euchone, with comparative investigations of
selected members of the Chone complex, Jasmineira and Amphicorina. I would be
very interested to hear from anybody who has worked on, or experienced
identification difficulties with these genera. Any comments and observations of
taxonomic/systematic inconsistencies or 'transitional' features would be most
welcome.

We have completed an 18S gene phylogeny of a taxonomically representative range
of brachiopods (and phoronids) and this is being finally written up.
Preliminary accounts are to be found in: Williams, A. (ed) Treatise on
Invertebrate Palaeontology, Vol H Brachiopods (revised). Due out late 1996 and
in Copper & Jin (eds) Brachiopods. Balkema: Rotterdam 1996. Other active
research interests include Caecilians (Amphibia: Gymnophiona) and skuas/jaegers
(Aves: Stercorariidae).

Research Requests: Well fixed material of: (1) _Chaetopterus_ (any species)
from 'Sea of the Antilles' (type locality of _C. pergamentaceus_, type species
of genus); (2) benthic polychaetes (unsorted benthos samples would be fine)
from vicinity of Frederikshaab / Paamiut area of SW Greenland (in connection

contact me for details); (3) _Pseudocirratulus kingstonensis_ Augener, 1922
from Kingston, Jamaica (type locality) or Loango, near St. Thomas, West
Indies; specimens of any size welcome. The species has been taken under
stones along the beach and looks like a big earthworm minus a clitellum; it
has no appendages of any kind and may be up to 5-6 mm wide, 270 mm long, and
have well over 400 segments. Chaetae are exclusively very tiny sigmoid
aciculars that just barely protrude from the cuticle, with up to 11-12 per
ramus. Contact me for further details..
