Dear colleagues,
I am including a revised version of the conference programme below. Please
read it carefully and if you still find any problems concerning your
presentations, please send me a message as soon as possible.
A last reminder: if you need to exchange money for your arrival, try to do
it at the Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo airports, before taking your
connection flights to Curitiba. Depending on your arrival time, it will be
more difficult or impossible to do this at the Curitiba airport. The
conference hotels will exchange cash or traveller's checks if they have
enough Brazilian currency at the moment. If not, you will have to warn
them with half an hour to one hour in advance. Automatic machines that
serve international connections of banks (through major credit cards) are
available at short walking distances of the hotels and conference venue. If
you need them, just ask for a Banco 24 horas (24-hour bank) at your hotels.
The easiest and cheapest way to make international phone calls is to buy a
phone card, and use any phone in the street. You can buy phone cards in
'bancas de jornais' (kiosks that sell newspapers and magazines), bookshops,
stationery shops, etc.
Best regards, Paulo Lana (please reply to lana at aica.cem.ufpr.br; do not use
the reply-to function)
