Hi,
Can someone plese give me an answer to this question about earthworm
mating. The gonopores of the male portion and the seminal receptacles are
reported to be on the segments anterior to the clitellum, but when
earthworms mate, they go head to tail with the anterior portions containing
the gonopores and receptacles routinely contacting the other worm
posterior to the clitellum. How does this work?
thanks in advance.
best,
dan
