I checked back with Stop-Bowitz 1948 whose authority has been called
upon a couple of times so far. As far as I can see from the paper he did
not consider Pherusea Grube 1850 at all, but were concerned with the
relations between Chloraema and Flabelligera and on this issue he was
correct. He is also correct on the generic name for the taxa that had been
described in Pherusa, Siphostoma, Siphonostoma and Trophonia. The
oldest name in this group is Pherusa Oken 1807. However, for whatever
reason he did not consider the family-name based on Pherusa by Grube
1850 as the oldest name. I believe Fred and Greg are correct, if we want
to retain Flabelligeridae as a family name somebody better ask the
Commission to conserve it before this gets out of hand!
