Last August we were contemplating the Salton Sea (a manmade lake cum
environmental disaster in S. California) first in connection with
hypersaline polychaetes and then news about fish kills.
For those interested in what's going to happen next there is a news item
in the journal Science of 28 January, v287(5453):565 which reports on
recent studies and plans of action (more than one billion dollars may be
necessary for restoration projects).
Watch for an issue of Hydrobiologia publishing some of the biological
studies later this year.
