Recently I have been having trouble with computer-generated sample
labels. When immersed in alcohol or phenoxetol the type either dissolves
leaving an illegible smudge, or simply floats off the paper, depending which
printer they've been printed off on. I've tried every printer and photocopier
in the place and tested the labels but none seem to produce type that is
waterproof. We used to be able to use photocopied labels but our new
photocopier seems to work on the same principle as a computer printer
now, with the same unusable results. Any suggestions for what must now
be a common problem for polychaetologists?
