Hi all, Prof. Zibrowius' narrative perfectly illustrates the basic issue;
when various rules, regs, and authorities are in the process of being drafted,
often the persons most affected are not involved in the deliberative processes.
Solution(s): keep in touch with your legislators, agency heads, and adm-
inistrative officials so as to get reasonable reponses to national and
international issues such as endangered spp., < biodiversity, and human
health concerns (i.e. the picric acid concerns).
Too many scientists stand back in the ivory tower until it is too late!!!

p.s. The MPB would welcome a "viewpoint" article or editorial on the
generalities of the above.
p.p.s. Would G. Bellan pls resend your recent message. Thanx.
