Tenure-Track Faculty Positions. Atmospheric, Marine and Coastal
Environment (AMCE) Program is a new interdisciplinary and
interdepartmental postgraduate program established under the School of
Science. AMCE invites applications for the following faculty positions: 1) a
joint appointment with Biology in the area of Marine Environmental Science
with research interests in marine microbial ecology, ecotoxicology, marine
ecosystem dynamics, or marine conservation and biodiversity; 2) an
appointment in Chemistry in Analytical Chemistry with research interests in
marine environmental chemistry; and 3) a joint appointment with
Mathematics in Geophysical Fluid Dynamics with research interests in
modeling the atmosphere/ocean and pollutant dispersion and a strong
background in applied mathematics. Applicants must have a PhD degree,
postdoctoral experience and the ability to establish a strong independent
research program.
Starting ranks and salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience. Fringe benefits including medical/dental benefits and annual
leave will be provided. Assistance in housing will also be provided where
applicable. Initial appointment will normally be on a three-year contract. A
gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract. Re-
appointment will be subject to mutual agreement with possibility of tenure.
